At Flamingo Cultural Center, we will implement our 2017 English class program for children, youth and adults during the months of June, July, August and September 2017. English courses begin on June 5 and end on September 13. The courses are divided into 3 levels with a total of 6 units. The teaching methodology includes exercises, games and written, oral and audiovisual dynamics.
English classes are at a low cost for public school children and youth. The courses are targeted to children ages 8 to 11 and teenagers, ages 12 to 18 years old. We also offer courses for adults in the evening.
The workshops are for beginners and include the following topics:
Unit 1: Let’s begin (greetings and basic vocabulary, numbers and alphabet)
Unit 2: Time, Places and Family (time, dates, nationalities, places and family)
Unit 3: Recreation and Personal Interests (daily activities, recreational and sports, as well as tenses)
Unit 4: We Can Do It (skills, use of the future, vocabulary about body parts and animals)
Unit 5: When did it happen? (Birthdays, celebrations, events, important dates and weather)
Unit 6: Fun (activities for young people, movies, books and news)

The English classes at Flamingo Cultural Center allow children and young people to become familiar with the English language, learn expressions of everyday use and really begin to speak and understand the language.
The Flamingo Cultural Center is visiting schools, churches and public institutions in Roatan to present the English class program to teachers, religious leaders, parents and representatives of public institutions.
“Our goal with the English classes for beginners is for our children and young people to become familiar with the English language and to improve it in the advanced courses that we are developing later this year,” said Audrey Flores, executive director of Flamingo Cultural Center.
